“The Crisis of Credit”
Somehow it seems that everyone except me understands exactly how we have come to find ourselves in this crazy little recession/depression we find ourselves in. Now I certainly understand it at a basic level, but don’t often grasp all the nuances and cyclicality of it.
Combine this with my love of simple explanations and outstanding visualizations, and you find a little video floating around the web called “The Crisis of Credit – Visualized.” It’s about 11 minutes long and surprisingly easy to follow and entertaining. The animation is sharp; the voiceover is simple; and concepts being batted around can be understood by almost anyone.
By no means is it exhaustive – I noticed a few areas that I thought could you some “beefing up,” but overall I found it informative and fun. If you already work on Wall St. or know everything there is to know about this stuff, or are just completely fed up with information about this, skip it. Otherwise it’s a good use of 11 minutes of your life.
And yeah, you can spare 11 minutes to get smarter. Because I said so.
